Conditions

of the media project

Key tasks of the media project:

- to promote in-depth study of the humanities;

- to interest students in biography and creative activities of the writer, to encourage them in creating their own attitude to the writer with the 21th century reader’s position;

- to generate the 21 century skills: cultural and social interaction, media skills, reading skills and innovations;

-to promote creative contacts within teachers and pupils (teachers and students) from different regions;

-to improve teacher’s possession of 21 century teaching methods: methods of asking questions, projects and cooperation;

Media project is conducted among the 9-11 form students of secondary and vocational schools (of 14-16 years). Personal and group projects are accepted. Members of the group project can be from different regions.

The project participants should create a five-minute project in a video format -a movie,( a slideshow, etc.), which should deal with the interesting aspects of writer’s personality or creative activity, artistic perception of his texts.

The main task is to interest the others in their work, to find unusual perspective, which would allow to observe the life of the writer from the other side, to reveal own attitude to Balzac and his work from the point of a present-day reader. There are no any restrictions in content and form of the theme. Media works of more than 5 minutes longevity will not be treated.

The project is conducted by correspondence. From September 28 to December 20, 2012, the project participants have to register online, filling out an application form and place their project on YouTube.
